Club advancement

One of the main reasons for starting and maintaining this Blog was to have a medium for recording all the images I have entered into competitions since joining the Tygerberg Photographic Society way back in February 2014.

All the images can be seen by clicking on the "TPS Entries" link at the top of the Blog, and then selecting the pages for the various years.

Well - last night I received official confirmation (see image below) that I had achieved my long-term main goal of achieving 5-Star status within the Club's structures. Needless to say I am incredibly proud of this achievement, and unbelievably grateful to the various Club members who have provided me with guidance and help over the years. And of course, to Daniel Rossouw, my very good friend who talked me into joining in the first place. And last but not least, to my wonderful wife, Jacqui, for her constant support and encouragement!

So now to setting the next target!

Lourensford Estate Sunday Market

First post for a long time! I have so many posts still to do, but while this is fresh in my memory I'm going to do it right now.

Sunday morning in Somerset West is Lourensford Estate morning market day. This post is not so much about the actual market, except to say that the Zorba's Specialised Samoosas stand is impossible to pass without making a purchase, as is the Fudge Kitchen stand, where the Swiss Chocolate Fudge is just so heavenly smooth it's unbelievable! And that's just two of a great selection of foods available.

But forget about the food for a moment - the main reason for the post is the Autumn gardens - they are absolutely spectacular! Here is a very small selection of images from the gardens, plus part of the driveway into the Estate. Well worth a visit.

All photos taken with the Fujifilm X-T2 and 18-135mm lens.
